Carolyn Gregorek and Tom Conway
Meet newly engaged couple Carolyn Gregorek and Tom Conway!
Lovebirds Carolyn Gregorek and Tom Conway can’t wait to make sweet music together — literally! — as a married couple. After meeting last December through a mutual friend with whom Gregorek planned to start a band, the pair hit it off immediately. Their band didn’t get far (“it all slowly fizzled out,” says Gregorek), but the two found themselves chatting about their favorite topics: traveling, music, and wine.
It was just a week after their first date that Gregorek, a Marist graduate and assistant designer at The Children’s Place in Secaucus, New Jersey, “knew then that I wanted to see that smile and watch that laugh for the rest of my life. I am him and he is me in every way. People say they’ve never seen us happier.”
Conway, a Rutgers graduate who works in his hometown of Freehold, New Jersey as Assistant Vice President for Bank of America, proposed where the two first met — in New York City. “We had dinner and he took me on a boat ride with a view of the New York City skyline,” the Cornwall native recalls. “Tom is afraid of boats, but convinced me to come to the front where he (shakingly) got on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
The couple plans to wed on September 21, 2013 at Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville. Says Gregorek, “It was the site of one of our first dates, and [we’ve] kept the bottle of Champagne we purchased that day.”
Because music played a large role in their union, the two plan to incorporate it into their wedding décor. They’ll seek inspiration from the 1950s, too. “We love old-fashioned music, and will hopefully achieve a look that resembles a living room set straight out of a Mad Men episode,” says Gregorek.
Gregorek says they hope to have “plenty of good wine, good music, and an old-fashioned family wedding.”
