A dying mother’s wish inspires the Hudson Valley to provide milk for Baby Violet

Though it is unlikely any mother would hesitate to sacrifice their own life for their child’s, it is rare that one has to make such a call. Sadly, one brave Chatham woman recently did.
After being diagnosed with terminal liver cancer during her fifth pregnancy, Renee Noble chose not to receive chemotherapy so that her unborn child could live. Her daughter Violet Jeanine was born on November 17 at 32 weeks. Renee passed on December 15, just two weeks after Violet’s release from NICU.
Because it was Renee’s dying wish that Violet be raised on breast milk, her family has begun collecting donations. There are a number of individuals and businesses throughout the Valley acting as official drop-off centers to collect as much breast milk as possible for baby Violet. Retail locations include Waddle N Swaddle (Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck), Illuminated Baby (Woodstock), and The Bee’s Knees (Hudson).
