Bop to Tottom in Uptown Kingston Expands

Kingston, NY kids’ shop, Bop to Tottom, adds to its space while keeping prices low

Bop to Tottom, one of my favorite little shops in Uptown Kingston, got a bit bigger a couple of months ago by expanding into the space next door. Now there’s more elbow room to poke around among the fun, colorful, international merch, which is a mix of clothing, bags, jewelry, gifts, kid’s stuff and home accessories. I stop in for the Pumpkin Patch goat-milk soap and soy candles, and on my last visit I was tempted to get some zen-inducing Tranquility table chimes for my desk — a particularly zen-free zone lately. You’ll also find vases, lamps, lanterns, totes, mosaic-tiled mirrors, cutting boards, mugs and bird feeders.

There’s not much call for red, sky-high stiletto-heeled shoes in my life, but a girl can dream — a Manolo Blahnik-style bottle stopper is almost as much fun and, at twelve bucks, about $700 cheaper. Speaking of cheap, everything in the store is well-priced. Owner Karen Clark-Adin, whose taste runs to quirky without sacrificing quality, keeps prices low.
