Local Singer Carly Rose Sonenclar of Mamaroneck Advances to X Factor's Top Six
One of our local singers is moving on up in The X Factor’s reality singing competition

Earlier this year, we reported that a couple of locals were taking reality singing competitions by storm. Two area contestants found themselves on two of the biggest shows: The Voice and The X Factor.
The bad news: Only one of them is still standing. Bedford’s Collin McLoughlin fought hard on The Voice, but he was eliminated in the knockout round after singing “Breakeven.” He hung on as long as he could, and hopefully there are bright things in his future.
The good news is that Mamaroneck’s Carly Rose Sonenclar is just killing it over on The X Factor. On November 28, she captured the top spot on the leaderboard after performing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” advancing her into the next round with the final six competitors. What’s more, that’s the second week in a row she’s been at number one. In the words of some other sport: She could go all the way.
