How wonderful it would be if all the events before, during, and after a wedding were not fraught with issues! The old adage “you can’t please all of the people all of the time” comes into play, and often, you’ll need to decide which battles are worth fighting and which are not. What do you think of this week’s wedding issue?
A Hudson Valley bride asks: “My wedding shower is coming up and everything was going really well... until my maid-of-honor (my future sister-in-law) called to tell me she can’t find a sitter for my six-year-old nephew. The bridal shower that my family and friends planned is a formal tea, which is obviously no place for a six-year-old. I’m furious, because I really believe that my sister-in-law could try harder to find coverage so as not to ruin my party. Is there anything I can do?”
