Rules of etiquette were created to remind people how to behave well. If everyone followed the guidelines of courtesy, many of the those rules would be unnecessary. If you’re not sure of how to behave, keep the Golden Rule in mind and “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Unfortunately, some people ignore that adage!
Mother of a Hudson Valley bride asks: “The deadline date for R.S.V.P. for my daughter’s wedding is just around the corner. I’m getting worried, because there are quite a number of guests who have not responded. As the mother of the bride, I assume that it’s my responsibility to deal with this issue, so I need to know if it’s okay for me to call the people who still have not responded.”
