Engagement Announcement: Who Do We Tell First?

(Hint: Not Facebook)

The Wedding Guru says: I understand that you want the whole world to share in your special moment, but there’s definitely a right and a wrong way to announce it. In this digital age, you may be tempted to put the word out on Facebook or Twitter first — resist the temptation! First, share the news with your families and closest friends. Taking the time to tell them in person or on the phone means everything.

Then, once you’ve alerted those special people, go and tweet your heart out!

Check out next week’s blog post for another question regarding posting to social media.
