GeekHive, a unique technology business in Warwick, cut the ribbon May 19 on a new 13,000+ sq. ft. Church Street office. The space allows the company to continue its successful run in the town during its 20th year in business.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate this momentous occasion," said Peter LadkaGeekHive’s President and CEO in a released statement. "It’s been a long time coming and we’re really proud to share this moment with our community. We’ve already come so far, I can’t wait to see where we go from here!”

The building, formerly a Georgia-Pacific facility, was redesigned by Ladka himself. To counter the industrial warehouse feel, Ladka brought in natural wood elements, including sliding barn doors and farmhouse-style desktops and conference tables all created by Pine Island-based Warwick Valley Iron & Wood.

Lounge areas and an open floor plan encourage movement and collaboration, two ideals that help form the backbone of GeekHive’s “people first” principle — the people on the team are people first, employees second: “Treat people like they matter, because they do,” said Ladka (pictured second from left). To that end, GeekHive schedules yoga breaks, game nights, cook-offs, and a beer club on Fridays (check out their Facebook page regularly to see what’s “on tap”).

GeekHive was founded in 1997, and since then they have built a thriving tech business in the Hudson Valley, partnering with digital agencies in NYC and around the country all while staying committed to keeping their headquarters in Warwick to offer work and growth opportunities locally.
