Hear the stories of women who served during the Vietnam War as army nurses and with the American Red Cross during this pre-holiday event.

Veterans Day Parade

Corner of Central Ave and Ontario St, Albany
November 11, 11 a.m.

The city’s 64th annual parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Monday. All are welcome to attend.



Veterans Day Parade

Veterans Monument, Hudson
November 11, 10:15 a.m.

Beginning in the morning on Monday, the City of Hudson hosts a full-day ceremony to honor the nation’s veterans. The community can attend the wreath-laying event, march in the parade, and listen to commemorative remarks from local officials.



Veterans Day Commemoration

Castle Point Campus of the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Wappingers Falls
November 6, 2 p.m.

Locals can head to Wappingers for a commemoration ceremony before Veterans Day. The afternoon event includes a musical performance by USO Show Troupe, plus a guest speech by David Lionheart, the founder, CEO, and chairman of the board for "Play for Your Freedom."


Veterans Day Celebration

November 11, 11 a.m.

The community is welcome to attend local observances to honor veterans in the region and those we lost in the past.


Veterans Day Service

Broad and Main St, Fishkill​
November 11, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

On Monday, Fishkill hosts a ceremony at the Broad and Main St memorial, with refreshments at All Sport Health & Fitness to follow.


Veterans Day Ceremony

Town Hall, Town of Wappinger
November 11, 1-2:30 p.m.

Venture to the Town of Wappinger for a commemoration ceremony on Monday afternoon. Attendees can join Supervisor Richard L. Thrurston, the Wappinger Town Board, and the Department of Parks & Recreation at the Wappinger Town Hall to honor veterans in the region.


Veterans Breakfast

Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, Poughkeepsie
November 14, 9:30-11 a.m.

Hosted by Hudson Valley Hospice, the post-holiday breakfast is a complimentary morning gathering to honor local veterans and educate on how hospice provides for veterans toward the end of their lives.





3rd Annual Day of Free Dentistry for Veterans

Dental365, Warwick
November 10, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

For the third year in a row, Dental365 opens its doors to veterans for a free day of dental care. Services offered include cleanings, x-rays, full-mouth debridement, examinations, and same-day services.


Veterans Day Ceremony

Walden Veterans Memorial Park, Walden
November 10, 1-2 p.m.

On Sunday, Walden pays tribute to the veterans of the United States with a cermony at its memorial park. Immediately following the brick dedication and rededication, attendees can head to the VFW for conversation and refreshments.



Veterans Day Wreath Laying and Tour

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor, New Windsor
November 10, 2-4 p.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m. on November 10, the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor hosts an outdoor ceremony and wreath laying by the flag poles. Afterward, visitors can tour the hall to learn more about the history of the site and the significance of the Purple Heart in the region.



Veterans Day Luncheon

Questar III, Troy
November 7, 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

With two seatings for lunch, the turkey dinner celebrates veterans in the Troy region. Questar III's Culinary Arts Program prepares the meal, which includes coffee and dessert as well.


Spaghetti Dinner to Honor Veterans

West Sand Lake Firehouse, West Sand Lake
November 9, 4 p.m.

In ode to local veterans, West Sand Lake Firehouse hosts a special dinner during which all veterans and active duty personal eat free. Farmilies can dine for a flat rate of $25, while individuals can dig into dinner for $10.



Veterans Day Ceremony

SUNY Ulster, Stone Ridge
November 19, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

SUNY Ulster honors local service members at the Quimby Theater in Vanderlyn Hall after Memorial Day.
