In the Hudson Valley, the commercial craze takes hold all the way from Albany to Westchester. Not just limited to local shoppers, the event attracts far-and-away visitors to hubs like Woodbury Common Premium Outlets and the multi-tiered Palisades Center in Rockland County.

And that’s just the big-time side of things. On the smaller scale, local shops pull out all the stops with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals made just for Hudson Valleyites. Adams Fairacre Farms throws a Winter Fest at its Wappinger location on Black Friday. On Saturday, the fun moves to the Poughkeepsie location. Expect shopping specials and family fun during both days.

Darkside Records hosts Record Store Day Black Friday with free coffee from The Poughkeepsie Grind in the morning, followed by fried chicken and beer on tap throughout the day. The fest leads into Small Business Saturday, which comes with its own set of specials.

For art aficionados, Wassaic Project’s Black Friday Print Show is a must. With unique prints from 40 artists, the creative to-do is the perfect way to refresh art at home or stock up on eye-catching presents.

Get a jump on summer fun with a Black Friday sale from SplashDown Beach. For a limited time, the Fishkill fun center is offering a 2020 Ultimate season pass for $79.99.

Head to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome for a holiday gift shop open house designed to help locals get a start on holiday shopping.

Locust Grove hosts a 40-vendor artisan market in Poughkeepsie that’s free to enter and open through Sunday.

Do yourself a favor and save big on an Epic Pass to Hunter Mountain this Black Friday weekend. Through Cyber Monday, the Hudson Valley mountain offers a $739 deal on its unlimited access pass to all Peak Resorts, which include 17 ski areas across the U.S. For a less expensive option, the college student pass and the day pass are worthy steals as well.


Orange County

 

 

Score big during Black Friday with Legoland New York’s seasonal sale. Through Cyber Monday, the highly anticipated Orange County amusement park is discounting its Gold Pass, the highest tier of annual pass, by more than 50 percent to $99.99. Run, don’t walk, for this one.

Woodbury Common may just be the most popular spot in the Hudson Valley on Black Friday, and for good reason. After all, where else can you find dozens upon dozens of designer retailers stocked to the brim with discounts galore in one place? As an extra incentive to plan a visit, the outlet center is open from midnight to 11 p.m. on Black Friday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Small Business Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.


Putnam County

 

 

Pop into the Garrison Art Center over Black Friday weekend to shop the Holiday Pottery Show and Sale. The event runs until Monday and is an ideal place to pick up handcrafted works made by more than 30 regional artisans.


Rensselaer County

 

 

How lucky for us is it that the monthly Troy Night Out just so happens to fall on Black Friday this year? With a “Friendsgiving” theme, the event brings together the storefronts of the downtown district for a late-night shopping shindig. Is getting healthy on your list of resolutions for 2020? Make it happen by taking advantage of the Black Friday deal at JCC Rockland. Through December 5, the Rockland community center is offering a $20.20 enrollment pass which includes one free month along with one week of free fitness.

Palisades Center goes all out with its post-Thanksgiving programming this year. With sale after sale on each of the mall’s many levels, the Nyack destination is the place to be all weekend. Make the most of the extended hours with shopping from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Craving an escape? Score a 25-percent discount for a two-night stay at Mohonk Mountain House on select weekends from mid-December to mid-April 2020. For a 40-percent discount, take a look at midweek trips during that time instead. As a bonus, any guests who book the Cyber Monday special receive an exclusive 25-percent discount for purchases over $125 at the gift shop.
