Big Kev’s BBQ

Dubbed “the best BBQ on wheels,” Big Kev’s slow cooks its meat over a wood fire at its outpost in White Lake. Look for the log cabin rig at the Hudson Valley’s meatier festivals (hello Ribfest), where it serves up pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken, and ribs galore.

 

Charcoal Dole

Grilling galore is the unofficial motto at the Charcoal Dole food truck (the official motto is “flex your taste buds!”). Based out of Albany, the charcoal-powered caterer excels at smoky goodness. Enjoy summertime flavors and ample portions no matter what you order. The Smokin’ Bam! Pie, made with smoked pulled pork or brisket that is served over home-fried potatoes and sprinkled with cheese and bacon crisps sound too good to be true.

 

The Grille Wagon

From far away, The Grille Wagon makes a statement with its specialized grill wagon attached to the back of a black pick-up. It’s a regular presence at Hudson Valley events, dishing out barbeque goodness of all sorts. Try the larger-than-life Big Daddy, a pile of pulled pork or brisket on a plush bun with sharp cheddar, sautéed onions, bacon, jalapenos, and signature sauce. Warning – this is not for the faint of heart.

 

 

Handsome Devil BBQ

Handsome Devil is a mainstay at festivals and events throughout the Hudson Valley, and for good reason. The barbecue is next level, thanks to the fall-apart brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. If the smell alone doesn’t entice you, the sight of the plentiful platters certainly will. Whatever you do, don’t forget to order the sweet corn bread, which is heavenly in its own right.
