When that craving for Mexican food hits, look no further than El Danzante on Wheels. The simple white truck is all about authentic dishes and serious flavor. You won’t get over-the-top presentations or off-the-wall ingredients at this truck, but, then again, you don’t really need them. The savory taco and tamale platters speak for themselves.
Never had an empanada? Run, don’t walk to the Empanada Master truck to experience the savory hand pies in their true form. Start on the savory spectrum with beef, chicken, pernil, or veggie stuffings. For dessert, choose between the apple pie and the strawberry cheesecake confections. Headquartered in Coxsackie, Savory Side draws inspiration from both Mexican and American cuisines. If you spot the blue van during your Hudson Valley ramblings, make a beeline for the burritos and sandwiches. Although you can’t go wrong with whatever you order, top picks include the fish tacos and the steak and cheese sammie. They’re simple, no frills, and utterly delicious.
It’s no secret that the Hudson Valley serves some seriously good Thai food. Based in Fishkill, Thailicious prepares mouthwatering Asian eats in its psychedelic purple van. Slurp up pad see ewe or pad Thai, but don’t forget to order a serving of dumplings.
Yummy Kitchen does Asian street food so well that you might consider skipping in-house eating altogether. Take a metaphorical trip to Vietnam with the Banh Mi Sandwich, made with, wait for it, crispy sriracha tofu. If Korean bites are more your thing, the crispy, tangy wings are divine.
