Need a break from all the holiday shopping? Make some time to unwind and enjoy the sounds of the season at one of the many festive concerts along the Hudson River. With so many magnificent performances planned in the Hudson Valley over the next few weeks, pick a few and brush up your vocal cords. ‘Tis the season for caroling!

Start the morning off with a concert filled with holiday classics and festive children’s songs. The event is recommended for families with younger children, but everyone is welcome.

While you enjoy music by the Helderberg Madrigal Singers, take a walk through Ten Broeck Mansion to see the spectacular Christmas decorations. As a bonus, coffee and desserts will be served.

There are multiple performers at this annual holiday concert, so be prepared for a full show. In addition to musical guests, Steve Allen will perform a holiday spoken word.

Bard’s Performing Arts department comes together for a holiday-themed night filled with classic works including Fantasia on Christmas Carols and excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.

December 14, 7:30 p.m.
This holiday concert features everything from The Nutcracker to Chanukah to Jesu Bambino. You can even get a chance to sing during the holiday sing-along. Plus, bring your favorite Christmas decoration for a chance to win the “Most Creative Decoration” contest.
Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh
December 15, 4 p.m.
Not only will this concert feature orchestrations of holiday classics, but solo artists will perform as well. At the end of the show the audience is encouraged to participate in the finale medley.

Americans aren’t the only ones who celebrate Christmas by caroling; Europeans do it as well. During this concert, festive songs and melodies from Italy, France, Germany, England, and other places in Europe will be performed, along with American classics.
