For 37 years, Grace Smith House has served as an open door to survivors of domestic violence and their families in Dutchess County and the surrounding area. With 1 in every 4 women – and 1 in every 6 men – effected by intimate partner abuse, these services remain an unfortunate necessity in our community.
Grace Smith House provides a 24/hour anonymous hotline, a crisis shelter, transitional housing and non-residential services, legal advocacy and court assistance, support groups and counseling, trauma-informed services for children of all ages, and preventative education against teen dating violence in the district school system. Regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion or socioeconomics, Grace Smith House opens its doors to survivors, and empowers them to live free of domestic violence.
