The library is pleased to host "A Celebration of Flowers" by watercolor artist Karleen Dorn.Karleen is originally from Babylon, L.I., and has lived in the Mid-Hudson Valley since her graduation from S.U.N.Y. New Paltz. After earning a B.S. and an M.S. in Art Education, she taught in the Wappingers and Millbrook school systems. She also worked as a picture framer. Inspiration for her paintings come from visits to family in Washington and Oregon and trips to Long Beach Island in New Jersey. Other sources closer to home include her own back yard. She has participated in a few art shows locally and displayed paintings at The Steven Amendola Beauty Salon. Flowers fascinate her! She loves the varied shapes, colors, organic forms, light, shadows, positions, attitudes, and spatial relationships of them! Gardens constantly change. Each painting attempts to capture a moment in the life of a flower or a group of them.
