A Little Relief: Linoleum and Woodblock Exhibit by Gina Palmer

Nov 1, 2019 to Nov 30, 2019
10:00 AM until 08:00 PM

The Library is pleased to host a month long exhibit of linoleum and woodblock work by Gina Palmer.  Here is the artist's statement:    "Here we are, in the historic Hudson Valley, where I live, teach, illustrate, design & bird- watch - pretty much every day.   Sketch, transfer, carve, print. Like a giant rubber stamp, carved linoleum is rolled with ink and the image printed in reverse, in black and white, ocassionally a dab of color. A scan and it's captured. A bit of type, and it's a logo.    Farms, the great outdoors, companions of all species and food; what more is there? Birds, birding and birders. I make illustrations for New Yorkers who live, work, play, and run inspiring businesses in the Hudson Valley and beyond.   My relief images make for bold print and digital media, posters you can see from a distance, assertive logos, greeting cards and teeshirts. They help promote sustainable lifestyles and products that are part of the local economy of upstate New York, as well as places further afield."
