ABSTRACT UNIVERSE, on view at FRG OBJECTS & DESIGN / ART June 3rd thru July 2017, features over twenty Non-Objective Paintings by the artist JARO, that though totally modern, easily transport you back to the time museums were first being built to show such work, without appearing contrived or nostalgic.
The ever-present theme using composition of rectilinear and circular shapes in a way that re-arranges ones perception of balance and a use of color in the extreme are integral to JARO's work. What makes the paintings exhibited in ABSTRACT UNIVERSE unique is as one critic put it " the artist's visual relationships, analytical precision and harmony in primary colors that carry on the grand tradition of non-objective art, while achieving a rigorous clarity on a cosmic plane”.
Artist Rolph Scarlet, whom JARO credits as his mentor and instrumental in his discovery of himself as a Geometric Abstract painter, is included in the Guggenheim's current show "Visionaries- Creating a Modern Guggenheim", on view through September 6th.
JARO has devoted himself to his singular vision for over forty years. While the world has changed around him, Jaro's paintings remain unique in their powerful sense of color and commanding geometric shapes that collide with such harmony the effect is at once exciting yet calming.
JARO's Geometric Abstractions go beyond style; each painting is an ABSTRACT UNIVERSE in itself.
