This event occurs weekly, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Performing Arts of Woodstock will present George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man on March 29, 30, and 31, April 5, 6 and 7, and April 12, 13 and 14. In this romantic comedy Shaw satirizes military vain-glory, romantic love, and pretensions of all sorts. George Orwell said of Shaw's play, ”It is probably the wittiest play he ever wrote, the most flawless technically, and in spite of being a very light comedy, the most telling.”
Directed by Ellen Honig, performances take place at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center, 56 Rock City Road, Woodstock. Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. Preview on March 28 at 8 p.m. Adults, $23.00; students and seniors $20.00. For reservations, call (845) 679-7900.
