The East Fishkill Community Library is proud to present the fascinating botanical artwork of local artist, Vincienne (Vinnie) Gesue. Vinnie always loved creating art: music, writing, photography, crafts, ceramics, and painting. After retiring, she discovered and registered for classes in Botanical art taught in Westchester by Laura Gould. Botanical art captures the beauty of the natural world and the art produced results in a realistic detailed drawing of a subject. A true Botanical artist wishes their work to be scientifically accurate, capturing roots, seeds buds and leaves. Most Botanical Artists use watercolor while some prefer color pencil, graphite, and ink. Her artwork may be more aesthetically pleasing and less botanically accurate. According to Vinnie, Botanical art is a form of relaxation inspired by a love of flowers and plants.
