The East Fishkill Community Library is proud to present the beautiful paintings of Hudson Valley native, Nancy Woogen. Nancy holds a Bachelor in Arts from SUNY Geneseo and a Masters in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. Now as a retired public art teacher, she spends as much of her time as possible painting out of doors or in her studio. Nancy loves observing landscapes dance with light, shadows, and color. Through various painting mediums, such as watercolor, pastels, oil, and acrylic, she tries to capture what she sees and experiences. The Hudson River Valley with its magnificent landmarks and history has inspired many of her work. Her travels have also found their way into her work. As she travels she records her experiences in photography, her artist journal and finally in painting. Through this process Nancy can experience each special moment once again, Nancy's attraction to nature continues in her love of plant live and gardening. This can be seen in her watercolor botanicals. She loves watching things grow. The mediums of watercolor lends itself so well to this subject matter. Nancy is a member of the New York Plein Air painter and Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters.
