"Four on the Floor" One-act Plays

One-Act Plays for a Sunday Afternoon

Tompkins Corners Cultural Center, in association with the M&M Performing Arts Company ( and GoJo Clan Productions (, will present an afternoon of one-act plays on Sunday, December 2 at 2 pm. Four on the Floor are comic looks at life’s serious twists and turns by four award-winning local writers, a funny and touching collection of short plays in a one-hour performance .

The plays and players include:

  • Foothold by Pat Lennon. A man with an ingrown toenail gets treatment for his ingrown soul. Featuring Joe Niola and Ali Bernhardt, directed by Richard E. Knipe, Jr.

  • Is Nothing Sacred? by Evelyn Mertens. A Sunday school teacher puts an unusual twist on The Ten Commandments. Featuring Ann Gulian, directed by Robin Anne Joseph.

  • The Late Gordon Kaplan by Robin Anne Joseph. A widow makes an unusual request of the Rabbi at the funeral of her husband. Featuring Ann Gulian, Jess Beveridge and Bruce Apar, directed by Robin Anne Joseph.

  • Split Session by Albi Gorn. A patient turns the tables on a shrink. Featuring Jess Beveridge and Bruce Apar, directed by Albi Gorn.

Suggested donation for the performance is $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. A Q&A will follow the presentation and refreshments will be served.
