Unlike many Celtic/Irish festivals, The Hudson Valley Celtic Festival is first and foremost a sanctioned Pipe Band Competition which attracts high-caliber bands from throughout the Northeast. In addition to the Pipe Band competition, more than 70 soloists (pipers and drummers) perform individually before internationally-recognized judges. The solo competitions begin at 8am and will conclude at noon. The (approximately 15) pipe bands will compete from noon to 5pm. The Mass Bands (when all the pipe bands march and play together) will take place at 5:45, a thrilling spectacle not to be missed! Spectator seating surrounds the pipe band Competition Circle. Musical acts perform under the Entertainment Tent from 11am until 8pm, including EMISH. The Fishkill Fencing Club is hosting a tournament in the afternoon. A beautiful setting with vistas of the Taconic Mountains, walking trails, and indoor restrooms. Ethnic and traditional festival food & drink. Free parking.
