This event occurs weekly, on Sunday, Friday and Saturday.
The Valley’s cultural calendar regularly includes both art shows and music performances. But it’s not every day that we can tell you about a “sound art” exhibition. In the Garden of Sonic Delights is a wide-ranging installation in which 15 artists (composers and musicians as well as painters and sculptors) have created site-specific works at six locations in Westchester County, including an abandoned warehouse near the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill. At that spot, conceptual artist Aaron Taylor Kuffner combines sound produced by a modified Balinese gamelan with pulses of light to transform the empty, windowless space into an otherworldly retreat.
(For information on other sound art locations included in the exhibit, visit www.caramoor.org.)
