Hudson Valley Dance Theatre's Nutcracker, Short and Sweet
On Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 15, don’t miss this local, family-oriented rendition of a classic holiday favorite ballet, The Nutcracker. Performances on December 8th will take place at Cornwall High School, 10 Dragon Drive in New Windsor at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and performances on December 15 will take place at Goshen Middle School, 41 Lincoln Avenue in Goshen, also at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Under the direction of Aggie Kimple and Annie Cerone, featuring the choreography of Helen McLennan, Annie Cerone, and Aggie Kimple, the company features dancers from Orange County, including Aria Kimple and Isabella Willkomm as Clara; Anna Liba and Anna Uhl as the Sugar Plum Fairy; Katy Rolon and Katie Yankovich as Dew Drop; Anna Liba and Anna Uhl as the Snow Queen; and Evan Schaffer as Drosselmeyer.
The Nutcracker, Short and Sweet offers the timeless music of Tchaikovsky, favorite dances performed by a company of committed ballet students, engaging narration written by Anastasia Edson and spoken by Beth Maurer, and costumes that will delight every guest—in a setting and at a price that is perfect for audiences ages 3 and older. The Hudson Valley Dance Theatre, founded in 1986, is a not-for-profit corporation, registered and approved by the New York State Department of Education for its commitment to provide opportunities for participation in and enjoyment of the art of dance in our community.
