Eastside Studio Theater presents the classic Lux Radio Play It’s a Wonderful Lifeon December 8 and 9.

LAGRANGEVILLE, NY – Eastside Studio Theater will present the Lux Radio classic play It’s a Wonderful Lifewith performances on Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 pm.

It’s a Wonderful Lifeis a heartwarming story based on the popular movie and comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. This show is a historical time capsule that takes us back to the glamour of the Golden Age of Hollywood and surrounds the idealistic George Bailey.

George Bailey never got a chance to fulfill his life’s ambitions of exploring the world and building skyscrapers. As he watches his friends and family become success stories, he dreads on running his father’s building and loan business, rivaling the grumpy old Mr. Potter. When a financial discrepancy puts George in a difficult position, an angel comes to show him what life would have been like if he had never been born.

The Eastside Studio Theater is an outgrowth of two local professional theaters: The Queen City Stage Company, active at the then Vassar Brothers Institute in the 1990s, and River Valley Rep that was active at Marist College in the last decade. The objectives of the company are to produce live theatre for an affordable admission and to provide opportunities for local experienced actors to perform.

It’s a Wonderful Lifeis directed by Marie Hasenpflug and features Paul Francis as the beleaguered George Bailey, Nancy Auffarth as his wife, Mary, and John Adair as George’s guardian angel, Clarence. Anna Marie Paolercio, Dean Temple and Douglas Woolley bring to life a variety of other characters in this wonderful radio play.
