Broadway Vocalists to Perform at DCC

September 24, 2019 – Erin Stewart and David DeWitt, who sung in the Broadway National Tour of “Phantom of the Opera,” will perform in Dutchess Community College’s Black Box Theatre in Dutchess Hall Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.

The husband and wife duo will be accompanied by pianist Cynthia Peterson for “Married with Child,” a cabaret concert featuring songs about the ups and downs of marriage. Admission is a suggested $10 donation to the MusicLink Scholarship Fund, which provides free or low-cost music lessons to local students who otherwise could not afford them.

Stewart and DeWitt each have appeared in many productions in addition to “Phantom of the Opera.” Stewart appeared as Mrs. Nordstrom in the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of “A Little Night Music” starring Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters and Catherine Zeta Jones. She most recently sang with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra for the city’s Christmas celebration. DeWitt appeared in productions of “Les Miserables” and “Cats” and has many television and film credits including the make-up artist in Woody Allen’s film “Sweet and Lowdown.”

In addition to her stage work, Stewart is a vocal instructor at DCC’s Academy of Music, the recently launched initiative that offers credit or credit-free instruction and performance opportunities in a wide variety of instruments and voice.
