Now, Voyager is the featured film for April in the 2016-2017 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, April 21, 7:30 p.m. at the Maryknoll Society Center, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Now, Voyager is a 1942 U.S. film from director Irving Rapper. The film tells the story of a spinster, with no self-esteem, who is completely dominated by her wealthy mother, blossoms under therapy and becomes an elegant, independent woman.
The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: Changes in Perception, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
