Mesier Homestead and Museum Offers Free Guided Tours

Volunteer-lead guided tours of the Mesier Homestead, offered by the Wappingers Historical Society. Come learn about the early history of the Mesier Homestead, beginning in 1741 when a Dutchman and his son settled here, built the first stone house in the village and developed mills along the Wappingers Creek. Discover the story of Peter Mesier, a Tory loyalist, his store and the Wappingers Tea Party of 1777. Explore the Victorian Era-styled rooms of the Homestead and their displays of local antiquities, and see a portion of our collection of Native American artifacts.

Mesier Homestead is located at 2 Spring Street Wappingers Falls. Tours are offered on the second Sunday of the month, through December. Tours are offered every 1/2 hour beginning at 1pm. Last tour at 3:30pm. Tours last approximately 45 minutes. First floor of the Homestead is wheel-chair accessible.

Cost: Free - There is no cost for admission, however donations are gratefully accepted. Gift Shop onsite featuring local history books, children's items and artwork.
