The New York Sire Stakes will host a seminar for new and prospective Standardbred horse owners at the Harness Racing Museum on Sunday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants are invited to gather at 9 a.m. for a tour of the Goshen Historic Track backstretch, paddock and stables before two informational panel discussions led by industry veterans.
New owners will have the opportunity to attended two panels throughout the morning on topics relating to Standardbred ownership, including types of ownership, the risks and rewards of owning a Standardbred racehorse, training costs, vet bills, tax issues/incentives, and racehorse aftercare.
Following the panels, all participants are invited to stay for lunch and live racing at Goshen Historic Track, hosted by the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund. There is no cost to this program, but reservations are requested to ensure sufficient materials are available.
