The GRAMMY nominated drummer and his electrifying band that’s tearing up the jazz scene in New York City and all over the world is bringing feel-good, stomp your feet jazz reminiscent of the 20’s and 30’s, to Mamaroneck. In 2015, Lincoln Center named The Congregation an "Emerging Artist of the Year,” and Vanity Fair included them in "Jazz Youth-Quake," a list of up-and-coming jazz artists. In 2017 Ars Nova selected them for their prestigious ‘Makers Lab’. On their way to the Emelin, the young group will be stopping to teach a Master Class to the Mamaroneck High School Jazz Band, which will join the Congregation on stage for a portion of this event.
This engagement of Sammy Miller And The Congregation is made possible through the Jazz Touring Network program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
