Taste of History Costumed Guided Tour Day at Mesier Homestead & Museum

Oct 13, 2019
01:00 PM until 04:00 PM

Meet some of the men & women who contributed to the history of the Hudson Valley!

In conjunction with New Your State’s Path Through History weekend, the Wappingers Historical Society will be offering a special, interactive costumed guided tour of the Mesier Homestead and Museum, located in the Village of Wappingers Falls, on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Visitors will be able to meet the men and women who contributed to the history of the Hudson Valley.  Costumed historic characters include famed Revolutionary War spy Enoch Crosby, Phrenologist Orson Fowler, baseball great Dan Brouthers, as well as “friends” of abolitionist and women’s rights activist Sojourner Truth and the last Native American sachem (chief) of the Wappinger tribe, Daniel Nimham. These roles will be portrayed by volunteers from the Wappingers Historical Society and R. C. Ketcham High School.

Volunteer-led tours will take place from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019, departing every ½ hour, beginning at 1:00pm.  The last tour will be at 3:30pm.  There is no charge for admission, however, donations are gratefully accepted. Refreshments will be served.

The Mesier Homestead and Museum is located at 2 Spring Street, Wappingers Falls. The first floor of the Homestead is wheelchair accessible. Future tours can be arranged for groups such as senior citizen organizations, school groups and scout troops by calling 845-632-1281 or by email at
