This event occurs monthly, on the third Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, June and July.
Join us at the Towne Crier Cafe in Beacon for a great night of dancing, dining and friendship.
These dances are presented by Hudson Valley Dance Beat, which plays a wide array of dance music mostly from the 60’s to present with emphasis on Soul, R&B, Funk and all Latin rhythmic styles. The song list, which is ever expanding, also includes Blues, Reggae, Disco, Rock, Swing, Afro-Latin, Jazz, Gospel, International and much more, always aiming for the music to be moving, exciting and beautiful.
H.V. Dance Beat began presenting monthly dances in 2012 at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon where, for over three years, this event brought people together from all over Dutchess County and provided a place of friendship and enjoyment in the community.
The Towne Crier Cafe is an outstanding music facility which hosts world-class talent, and has a capacity of over one-hundred. Full bar service with fine wines and cocktails is available in the performance room before and during the dance. Fine dining includes mid-priced cuisine using local ingredients, and all desserts are made fresh daily by acclaimed pastry chef Mary Ciganer. These include carrot cake, sour cream and plum coffee cake, and a myriad of other sweets.
The setting is informal and all are welcome: singles, couples, friends, newcomers. Admission is $10.
