Sculptures by Spencertown artist Linda Horn will be on exhibit in a show titled Where Do We Go From Here at the Roeliff Jansen Community Library from April 29th to May 28th. There will be an opening reception for the artist on Saturday April 29th at 5:30 pm.
Linda Horn's sculpture combines both the visionary and sensory aspects of sculpture. This show features touchable sculpture. Horn has said of her work, "My strategy is to play tricks with people around what they are seeing, around their perception of reality. I try to engage people by confusing them….Engaging people is the whole challenge, the whole struggle ."
In a review of her work in Chicago Artist News, Victor M Cassidy said, “Linda Horn has a clear program and a completely individual vision. Strong as she is, this artist is always ready for adventure and experiment, which is why her work continues to be so fresh and provocative.”The Roeliff Jansen Community Library, which is chartered to serve Ancram, Copake, and Hillsdale, is located at 9091 Rt. 22, approximately one mile south of the light at the intersection of Routes 22 and 23 in Hillsdale.
