Born in 1967, Quirky and current, McDaniel’s writing speaks to the process of how counterculture becomes mainstream as well as how speaking out is a force for individual expression and artful activism. At the forefront of performance poetry 25 years ago, McDaniel was one of the first poets to break out from the sub-culture of performance poetry Slams into mainstream publishing. McDaniel will offer a writing prompt to the audience that works off the ideas generated from engagement in the special exhibit or museum.
