Yoga at Arlene's with Jammella Anderson

"Creativity arises naturally in states of stillness and presence, which can be elusive when we are distracted by daily preoccupations and scattered thoughts. This is why yoga is such a gift for the artist. When we practice awareness in asana, pranayama, and meditation, we learn to see—and let go of—the distractions of the mind. It is from this place of clear seeing that inspiration springs forth." — Karen Macklin

Arlene's Artist Materials is thrilled to announce our newest venture Yoga at Arlene's with yoga teacher Jammella Anderson. We are starting what we hope to be a regular series of workshops on Saturday, October 19th, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. It is our goal to help people reconnect with themselves in the safety of the open and creative environment of Arlene's. Anderson will help students find their grounding while offering them enough movement to get their blood flowing and loosen up anything that feels "stuck." Oftentimes all we need to do is ground, breathe and drop into the present moment so we can feel relaxed and find mental clarity. Students should be prepared to reconnect with their bodies, minds and breath in this thoughtful workshop. All levels welcome and we ask students to bring your own mats.
