Lera Lynn's new album The Avenues has songs that brew up images of lost highways, dusky landscapes and storms on the horizon. It's a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll, with a hyper-textured, auburn tone. She makes shimmering, swooning folk music that's more about texture than twang.
