Get Soap, Give Water

A local company does its part to help end the clean water crisis

Ollie & Otto, an all-natural skin care company based in Glenford, can help you give a gift to more than just those on your list this holiday season. Mario and Lynn Callaway founded their company in 2016 “based on the idea that skin and personal care can be simply made, effective, and impactful”; for every purchase made, clean drinking water is provided to a person in need for one year.

The business works through a partnership with generosity.org, a humanitarian organization dedicated to ending the clean water crisis in developing countries by focusing on the individual communities involved. Although currently directing their sales efforts on the people of Haiti, the Callaways are hoping to bring local awareness to the global water crisis that affects 663 million people across the world.

“As social entrepreneurs, we believe in the capacity for businesses to do good,” explains Lynn. “We feel that it is important to connect our customers directly to worthwhile causes that will make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.”

It’s this same benevolent mindset that inspired their company in the first place. Ollie & Otto was founded on the principle of leaving the world better than they found it, so all of their products are created using only naturally sourced and organic ingredients, and are handmade in small batches to ensure limited waste.
