Albany’s Capital Holiday Lights in the Park

After years of enjoying a static display, the family was gifted a Light-O-Rama in 2012. Since then, the display — animated via cutting-edge software — has grown to more than 15,000 lights and other elements.

Capital Holiday Lights in the Park
Drive through the magical winter wonderland of Washington Park, filled with light displays, craft vendors, and holiday treats. This has been a can’t-miss event for 20+ years.

Carmel Civic Association’s Holiday on the Lake
Enjoy activities all day, including kids’ fun, caroling, hayrides with Santa, and live bands, before joining the Santa Stroll parade at 6:30 p.m. The day culminates with the mass lighting of trees around the lake.

Christmas on Colden Hill
Now in its 12th year, Christmas on Colden Hill is a light show to behold. See two 30-foot dancing arches and a 20-foot pixel Christmas tree with different animations for each song, along with new songs and animations for the 2018 season. Donations help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

This fun-filled holiday light spectacular has tons of holiday light displays to walk through and to drive through, either in your own car or on Frosty’s Hayride.

Fortis Family Lights for a Cause
A small-scale display with a big impact, the Fortis family puts on a Christmas light display in their front yard, complete with music and themed treats, to raise money for Hopes and Heroes Pediatric Oncology Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Lights on Six
What began as a small hobby of decorating for Christmas slowly expanded into what is now a next-level light show. Lights on Six is a homebrewed light show that is fully synchronized to its own radio channel (FM 87.9).

North Kensico Christmas Light Show 2018
On your way to or from Westchester’s Winter Wonderland at the Kensico Dam, make sure you drive past these four homes and be dazzled by about 10,000 lights on 144 channels synchronized to music that you can hear by tuning in your car radio. If you want to get out and stretch your legs, no worries: there’s an outside speaker as well.
