Cold Spring Train Station, Cold Spring
One of Putnam County’s renovated train stations
The Cold Spring station was built in 1893 as part of the Hudson Line, serving both passengers and freight companies. It remained in use until 1954, when it was converted into a car dealership. In 1972, the building was reworked into a restaurant. Aptly named the Cold Spring Depot, the popular eatery serves traditional comfort fare. Owner Tom Rolston, who acquired the property in 1985, says the building is haunted by a female spirit, who occasionally flicks the lights on and off and puts the toilet seat down.
