At this solar-powered equestrian hideaway, a working dairy farm dating from the 1830s, kids of all ages learn how to ride horseback and explore picturesque trails.

Whether it’s in the garden, the barn, or pond, Common Ground Farm Camp inspires children to appreciate nature. Discovery walks, an investigation of farm animals, and harvesting in the field are all part of the enlightening activities — as are hand-made cookbooks and collages.
Schedule: Mon.-Fri., July 10-September 1
Session length: Five days per session
Drop-off/Pick-up: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (half day); 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (full day)

Phillies Bridge Farm Summer Camp

This 65-acre farm, complete with vegetable fields and an herb garden, is just the dreamy spot for wannabe chefs and farmers. The hands-on summer camp spans such “get your hands dirty” activities as planting, harvesting, and identifying wild edibles. Nature journaling will only strengthen your young one’s connection to the soil.
