Wallkill High Grads to Benefit from Crowell Foundation Outing

Local golf pro and TV personality Brian Crowell stages inaugural outing at Osiris Country Club

Stewart Crowell, father of GlenArbor head pro Brian Crowell, believed in bringing people together — today, not tomorrow — to help others in his Hudson Valley community. The golf affair in his memory, the “Carpe Diem” Golf Outing, will further his work by funding scholarships to Wallkill High School graduates who have made a significant difference through volunteerism and by giving back to the community.

“This will be a fantastic day for both golfers and those who may just enjoy the open bar, dinner, live music, and auction opportunities,” said Brian Crowell, well-known not just as a leading club professional in the area but as a Golf Channel and CBS-TV commentator. “The outing is a tribute to my dad and memorializes what he felt about the community.”

The golf course at Osiris was designed by Francis Duane on two distinct topographies. The front nine plays much like a golfer-friendly resort course, with flat terrain and small but moderately contoured greens. The back nine has more elevation changes, wicked greens, and several strategic challenges.

The event will be July 20 at Osiris Country Club in Walden. Entrants ($200) will enjoy golf on a fine course, open bar, lunch and buffet dinner, and lots of prizes and other amenities. Musical entertainment will be provided by “The Good Few,” a classic and modern rock cover band with lead guitar and vocals performed by Kevin Crowell, Stewart’s grandson.
