It’s a dog’s life here in the Valley — and that’s proving to be a good thing, especially with the addition of not one, but two, new dog parks in the region. Seven years in the making, Cornwall’s Bark Park opened in August in the town’s Angola Road Park. The one-acre site offers separate areas for small and large breeds to romp around off-leash; proximity to hiking trails, a picnic pavilion, and the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum make it a fun place for humans, too. At press time, folks in Beacon were this-close to raising the $35,000 necessary to construct a one-plus-acre puppy playground in the city’s Memorial Park, which will also have separate areas for St. Bernards and shih tzus. “We hope to break ground by the end of October,” says Friends of Beacon Dog Park VP Libby Faison.
