If you can’t decide between a salty or sweet snack, don’t. Dynamic sister duo Regina Furphy and Anne St. George eliminated this predicament with their Gourmetibles line of treats. Billed as “the candy that thinks it’s a cookie,” this delightful dessert derives sweetness from its toffee base and throws in a crunchy, salty kick with layers of either a cookie, pretzel, or cracker. The sisters currently sell their eight inventive flavors (like Almond Avalanche, Beyond Butterscotch, and the dark chocolate-based Naked in the Dark) in their Main Street shop from Thursday to Sunday, and manage an online inventory. Folks at Adams Farms in Poughkeepsie, the Highland Basket at the Country Goose in Cold Spring, and Nature’s Pantry in Fishkill can’t get enough of these little morsels either, and continually keep them in stock. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the chocolate-specific catering options for kids’ parties and events.
