Fans of this cute, retro-style eatery have raved about its made-from-scratch goodies ever since Lulu’s first opened its doors in 2005. Natural, organic ingredients are emphasized throughout the menu, which features everything from homemade mini-crabcakes served over mixed greens, to jerk chicken wrapped in a pita. But if you’re in brunch mode, you’re especially lucky: Lulu’s weekend brunch draws fanatical fans. On Saturdays and Sundays, in addition to its other offerings, the café offers about a dozen brunch options. Regulars rave about the peanut butter and banana French toast: It’s made with honey-battered challah bread stuffed with peanut butter and ripe bananas, dusted with confectionery sugar, and served with a side of pure maple syrup. Another brunch favorite is Lulu’s whole grain, organic waffles, which are topped with fresh bananas and strawberries, sprinkled with confectionery sugar, and also come with real maple syrup. Decadent? Maybe. Delicious? Definitely.
