14 Grist Mill Ln.
Gardiner, NY 12525
In 2003, Ralph Erenzo and Brian Lee put an end to the state’s 80-year dry spell by reopening the historic Tuthilltown Gristmill as a distillery offering the first whiskeys to be legally produced in the state since Prohibition. In the ensuing years they’ve been hard at work making up for lost time, earning a flurry of national and international awards for their whiskeys, vodkas, and other spirits (including gin and rum). But despite their international success and distribution, Tuthilltown itself remains an adamantly local, artisan affair, crafting their small-batch whiskey and vodka solely with the freshest apples and corn from nearby farms. Mixologists looking to make the perfect Manhattan might want to pick up their authentic New York rye, while the distillery’s award-winning Baby Bourbon and moonshine-style, unaged Corn Whiskey are sure to satisfy sippers. Tuthilltown spirits are available at bars and liquor stores throughout the Valley, but visit the distillery itself for tours and tastings or to dine at the beautiful Mill Restaurant & Tavern.
