For a million-dollar view, few can challenge Shadows on the Hudson, perched high above the water. Part of a larger complex that includes Grandview, a venue that hosts the most elegant of events, Shadows has transformed this part of Poughkeepsie from a no-man’s land to a destination. The interior design of the restaurant sets Shadows apart from any other establishment in the area. Guests have five different dining areas to choose from. If you choose the casual and warm Sunset room or the ultra-modern Winter Room, you will feel like you are dining in Manhattan or Vegas while the Sunrise Deck and True River rooms provide commanding views of the Hudson River.
Shadow’s menu has a broad appeal with a focus on Seafood and Steaks. The goal of the menu was to create a place where families could afford to eat more than once a week and would still appeal to couples out for a special night on the town. Shadows will also cater your small lunch or dinner party for groups of 20 - 100.
Adjacent to Shadows on the Hudson is Shadow’s Marina - the first stage of the Poughkeepsie waterfront redevelopment project which proposes restaurants, a hotel, retail and office space as well as a beautiful waterfront walkway along the Hudson River. For those who want to enjoy the entire marina experience, take a ride on Shadow’s One, the Hudson River’s fastest water taxi. With seating for 14 passengers, Shadow’s One makes exhilarating 60 mile per hour trips back and forth from the marina to the Newburgh waterfront.
