The Masters School is a premier coed day and boarding school that engages 5th – 12th grade students with a challenging curriculum in a welcoming learning environment. Located on a picturesque 96-acre campus in Dobbs Ferry, NY, Masters is conveniently reached by MetroNorth train, car or school bus.
Masters begins its 139th year with a diverse and talented student body of 657 upper and middle school students, representing 13 states and 30 countries. The School will start the school year with 165 boarding students. Their presence, along with the over 60% of faculty who live on campus, results in a vibrant seven-day campus with a variety of enriching activities throughout the week, and a faculty highly accessible to students. The result is both day and boarding students benefit from the advantages typically associated with a full-time boarding school.
Middle School day students are challenged by an innovative theme-based, interdisciplinary curriculum that engages their minds while developing traditional academic skills. A distinctive feature of the Middle School is that boys and girls in grades six- eight are taught in single gender classrooms to provide a more tailored learning environment.
In the Upper School, Masters is distinguished by its renowned Harkness teaching methodology where classes take place around oval tables, giving each student a front row seat for highly interactive, seminar-style participatory learning. Academic offerings include Honors, Advanced Placement and elective course in all disciplines. The result is students develop the complex skills needed to succeed in a complex world.
This fall, the School opens the new Maureen Fonseca Center for Athletics and Arts, an innovative 75,000-square-foot building that will provide a dynamic campus hub for athletics, the arts and students. This facility will feature a competition swimming pool, squash courts, fencing studio, basketball court, indoor track, experimental theater, art gallery, digital production studio, café and much more.
From its challenging curriculum, outstanding visual and performing arts, to championship athletic teams, the Masters learning experience prepares students for success in college, career and life. For further information, call 914-479-6420 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
