9 a.m. – Bite into breakfast at The Neon Croissant

With a name like The Neon Croissant, this bakery shop on Main Street is irresistible when breakfast rolls around. Sweet starters are readily available here, with everything from salted chocolate chip cookies to cronuts on the menu. Whatever you do, don’t leave without ordering one of the namesake croissants. They’re likely the largest you’ve ever seen, and the chocolate rendition will leave you dreaming about all those buttery layers for the rest of the day.

12:30 p.m. – Dig into a gourmet lunch at Little North

What happens when a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and former editor-in-chief of Saveur opens a store in Livingston Manor? The result is Little North, owner Stacy Adimando’s food-forward take on a farm store. Prepare to be overwhelmed by the enticing scent of Little North’s herbed rotisserie chicken, which pairs beautifully with sides like shaved Brussels sprout salad and roasted Yukon potatoes with pesto drizzle. Pro tip: Don’t leave without checking the pastries on offer, which could be anything from coconut banana bread with chocolate chips to bountiful blueberry muffins.

3:30 p.m. – Shop in style around Livingston Manor

For a small town, Livingston Manor has an ample selection of shops, and really good ones, too. For home goods, head to Long Weekend or Nest, both of which tempt with charming wares that will warm your interior. If Catskills memorabilia is up your alley, Homestedt is the place to go. 6 p.m. – Dine in style at The DeBruce

Led by Chef Eric Leveillee, The DeBruce is more of a culinary experience than a restaurant. Head to The Club Room during the week for a streamlined menu of elegant bites, or make a reservation at The Dining Room to enjoy either the a la carte menu or the tasting menu – the choice is yours. The menu changes seasonally, so no two visits are quite the same, but diners are sure to be wowed whenever they go. On any given day, dishes could range from Welsh rarebit with sourdough and cheddar to Atlantic salmon with sorrel and fingerlings.

During the day, this spot operates as The Walk In, the sister concept to The Neon Croissant and home of extremely fluffy and perfectly crispy biscuits (seriously, get one before you leave town). At night, it transforms into The Stumble Out Bar, Livingston Manor’s go-to for craft cocktails, beer, and wine, as well as dinner from Thursday to Sunday during the week. The cocktails vary with the seasons and ingredients on hand, so keep an eye out for whatever is on the special menu.
