Board certified in oncology and internal medicine, Dr. Arvind Kamthan realizes just how important personalized attention is for cancer patients when considering treatment options: “I have been a sole practitioner from the beginning. Dr. Kamthan, who this year was named a Top Doctor in this magazine, has a vast knowledge of different types of cancer treatments; his research has been widely published in various oncology journals. After obtaining his medical degree from Rajasthan University in India, Dr. Kamthan completed residencies in India and the United Kingdom. He also completed a fellowship in clinical oncology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York in 1992. He continued his residency at West Virginia University, where he taught from 1993-1998. He returned to New York in 1998 to establish his practice in Middletown. He has been treating cancer patients with individualized care ever since.
His spacious Middletown office provides comfortable and discrete accommodations for lab work and chemotherapy administered by Dr. Kamthan and his staff. He is affiliated with Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown; Bon Secour Community Hospital, Port Jervis; and Ellenville Regional Hospital, Ellenville. He is a member of the board of directors of the Hudson Valley American Cancer Society and was a Physician Liaison to the cancer committee of Orange Medical Center. He also served as a member of the council and board for the American College of Physicians.
