There was a time when even the whisper of the words “root canal” would make a dental patient cringe. “Thankfully, those days are over,” says Dr. Seth H. A root canal is often needed for teeth that have large cavities or fillings and for teeth that have incurred traumatic injury. The root canal process involves removing the pulp tissue, including the nerve, from the tooth. Once the pulp is removed, pain is alleviated and the patient can then return to his general dentist for final restoration.
“Because a tooth that requires root canal can be quite painful,” says Dr. Pulver “I’m available to patients 24/7, 365 days a year.” His office hours are Monday through Friday 8am-6pm. “And I can always be reached by beeper,” Dr. Pulver says.
